Required Classes Available On-Campus Only and Daytime Only
Because of the size of our program and the small number of faculty,
required courses for all degree and certificate programs in the Dept. of Applied Linguistics are, with
rare exception, offered only during the daytime hours (between 8 am
and 4 pm).
While some courses will occasionally be offered in the later
afternoon, most required courses are offered only during the day.
Hence, students who wish to complete degree and certificate programs in the Dept. of Applied Linguistics will need to
be able to take coursework at various times during the day,
at least certain quarters.
Online courses
Currently, the Dept. of Applied Linguistics does not offer any courses through the internet or other electronic media.
Prospective students should be aware that on-line versions of the department's courses are not available and will likely not become available in the near future.
Limitations on transferred credit
Finally, a number of the degree requirements must be taken in Applied
Linguistics at PSU, and transfer credit from another
institution cannot be used to fulfill these specific requirements.
